JeetBuzz Leandro Trossard was shown a red card for kicking during Arsenal's Premier League match against Manchester City at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Just before half-time, Manchester City's Bernardo Silva was fouled in midfield and Trossard kicked the ball away, which referee Michael Oliver objected to.
The Belgian, who had already received a yellow card, was then shown a second yellow card, forcing him to leave the field.
The decision left his entire Arsenal squad stunned, with manager Mikel Arteta covering his head with a jumper in disbelief.
Arsenal went into the game 2-1 ahead with braces from Ricardo Calafiore and Gabriel Magalhaas.
The Gunners are also furious over red card decisions earlier in the season, with Declan Rice ordered to march against Brighton and Hove Albion due to a delayed restart, leaving Arteta furious .
I was surprised. Arteta said in his post-match press conference: It was surprising, surprising, surprising because the decision-making was so inconsistent.
"There were two incidents in the first half but nothing happened. Then, in a non-key area, the ball hit Declan (behind his legs), he turned around, he didn't see the player coming, he touched ball.
"By law he (the referee) can make this call, but by law he needs to make the next call, which is a red card, so we play 10 against 10. It surprises me. At this level, It's amazing," he added.
