Cameron Green Sets Auction Record
Jeetbuzz168-live Sportstar presents the full list of sold and unsold players at the IPL 2026 auction.
Cameron Green became the most expensive player to be sold on Tuesday, fetching ₹25.20 crore from the Kolkata Knight Riders during the Indian Premier League 2026 auction at the Etihad Centre in Abu Dhabi. Chennai Super Kings and KKR were involved in an intense bidding war for the Australian all-rounder, who last played for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
With this purchase, Green became the third most expensive cricketer ever sold at an IPL auction, after Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. He also became the most expensive all-rounder and foreign player in IPL history.
Indian Players Break Price Barriers
Uttar Pradesh’s Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma, a wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, were sold to CSK for more than 47 times their base price. The duo not only became the most expensive Indian players auctioned on December 16 but also the joint highest-priced uncapped players ever, at ₹14.20 crore.
Venkatesh Iyer once again drew attention as Royal Challengers Bengaluru and KKR engaged in a bidding battle similar to last year. The Bengaluru franchise eventually secured the Madhya Pradesh all-rounder for ₹7 crore.
Other Highlights and Auction Overview
Later in the auction, KKR returned to acquire Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana as their death-overs specialist for a massive ₹18 crore.
The mini-auction featured 369 players, with the 10 franchises collectively filling 77 available slots.
